No fewer than 12 passengers of a industrial bus had been rescued after the bus they boarded veered off its lane and skidded into the canal at Cement busstop on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, thi night July 10.
Eye witnesses blamed the motive force of the industrial bus for driving recklessly.
Confirming the incident to newsmen, the Everlasting Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Administration Company, LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, stated the victims had been 7 males and 5 females who had been all taken to the hospital.
“Upon arrival on the scene, an accident involving a industrial bus (varagon) with unknown registration quantity and a Camry automobile with registration quantity BDG 963BT had been encountered on the scene.
Additional data gathered on the scene revealed that the accident occurred because of reckless driving from the industrial bus driver which led to the falling off of the industrial bus into the canal.
The 12 ( 7 male and 5 feminine injured passengers have been rescued and brought to the hospital”he stated
Osanyintolu added that automobile driver (an grownup male) sustained minor accidents and was attended to on the scene by the paramedics crew.
“The LRT crew alongside, LRU paramedics and The Nigeria Police had been responders on the scene. The Company’s Hiab is being dispatched for the restoration of the industrial bus from the canal.”
