The Giants added a former Diamondbacks left-hander in a commerce with the Guardians Monday.
Southpaw Alex Younger, who was designated for project by the Guardians on Thursday, is becoming a member of the Giants in a deal that despatched money concerns again to Cleveland.
Younger broke into the majors with the D’backs in 2019 when he posted a 3.56 ERA in 17 video games (15 begins), however has struggled to regain the shape he confirmed as a rookie as he completed the 2020 season with a 5.44 ERA in 15 video games earlier than ending 2021 with a 6.58 ERA in 40 video games.
To clear a roster spot for Younger, the Giants outrighted not too long ago acquired lefty Aaron Fletcher to Triple-A Sacramento. Fletcher was added on a waiver declare earlier this month after being designated for project by the Pirates.
